Raised in rural Montana, Idaho and Wyoming, Claire Vitucci has found solace in hands-on creations since childhood. Her youth was split primarily between the gallus frames of Butte, MT and the mountain peaks of Teton Valley, ID. This nomadic lifestyle perpetuated a love for travel and an affinity for different perspectives. Photography became her primary interest in college and lead to a B.F.A. from the University of Montana in 2002.
While the current exhibit of works is eclectic, most of her pieces begin by laying photographs down and painting over them to create a singular image, sometimes composed of many photographs. She hopes to allow the viewer to look out over the landscape of an experience.
After testing the waters of Southeast Alaska for a few years, Claire returned to Teton Valley to settle down and start a family. She continues to actively pursue the arts in photography and mixed media with regional shows.
